Texas Man’s Bond Set At $1 After Allegedly Raping Teenage Girl, Impregnating Her

2kviews

On Wednesday, a Houston man’s bond was set at $1 after he was accused of sexually assaulting a teenage girl.

Records indicate that in April 2022, a 16-year-old girl and her siblings went to the residence of 25-year-old Luis Sanchez to play games. Sanchez is said to have given the teen a drink of Smirnoff while they were there. He then told the siblings to go home but allowed the teenage girl to spend the night.

The 16-year-old reported to authorities that she passed out while drinking the Smirnoff. When she woke up, she was next to Sanchez, naked in bed.

Three months after that, the girl discovered that she was pregnant, and a DNA test showed that Sanchez was the father.

In May 2023, Sanchez was apprehended. He has been charged with felony assault of a child.

Documents note that Sanchez’s low bond is because he was not charged within a 90-day window of his apprehension. Thus, the courts had to decide what a reasonable bond was in the matter. This is based upon what a defendant can afford.

Sanchez is still in custody, and he is set to appear in court again in November.
