After a woman tried to break up with her boyfriend, the man fatally shot her in a parking lot of a Walmart, on Tomball Parkway, in Harris County, Texas. He then shot himself.
Paul Villagran-Gutierrez, the boyfriend, was taken to a medical facility where he died on Sunday. The woman’s name hasn’t been released.
Police say that they arrived to a scene on 249, close to Antoine, at about 2:15 a.m., on Saturday. They discovered the 31-year-old woman and Villagran-Gutierrez in a silver vehicle that neither of them owned. The woman had been shot and was declared deceased at the scene. Relatives say that the pair had planned to meet the car’s owner in the parking lot of the store.
Villagran-Gutierrez had been in the driver’s seat and was found with a gun in his hand and a gunshot injury to the head.
Authorities say that the two had been in a romantic relationship. Camera surveillance footage and witnesses’ accounts show that the woman was attempting to end the relationship.
It isn’t known if the owner of the car had arrived at the location before the incident happened.
