Texas Elementary Teacher Fatally Shot While Helping Friend Flee Domestic Situation

A Harris County 3rd grade teacher was shot and killed at an apartment complex in Spring, TX while helping her friend leave from a domestic situation on Saturday.

26-year-old Shantavia Reddick, a Spring ISD teacher, was discovered deceased on the 6th floor of the apartment’s parking garage with multiple gunshot wounds. Her dog was also located on the scene, shot to death.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, Reddick arrived at the apartment complex along with her dog to help her friend leave a toxic relationship.

The friend’s boyfriend, 28-year-old Dimitri Humphrey, was there at the time and fired multiple rounds at Reddick, fatally striking her and her dog.

Humphrey then fled the scene in a White Jeep and has not been located.

He is wanted on unrelated felony warrants and will also be charged with murder.
