2.8kviews

A 22-year-old Amazon delivery driver was rushed to hospital after a dog jumped a fence and mauled his face.

The San Antonio Police Department and Animal Care Service investigators responded to the residence in the 200 block of McNarney Street after the attack Monday afternoon.

According to SAPD, the Amazon employee was delivering a package at the residence and placed it outside the fence. A 4-year-old Staffordshire Terrier, whose owner lives at the house, jumped the fence and attacked the driver.

The dog lunged for the man’s face and continued to attack until the owner came outside and was able to him off.

Investigators say the owner rendered aid and the Amazon driver was also able to call 911 despite his injuries.

He was then transported to the hospital in an unknown condition.

The owner of the dog received 4 citations and the dog was impounded for quarantine. Since the dog was inside a fenced area, with no breaks in the fence, the owner does not face any criminal charges. Reports state the dog was just spooked and there’s not been any previous incidents.
