Texas Cop Killer Sentenced To Death

2.1kviews

In 2016, Otis McKane, 36, shot Detective Benjamin Marconi, a San Antonio police officer, in the head.

He has now been found guilty of capital murder and given the death penalty.

McKane had said that this was just a random act; however, prosecutors disagreed. They said he stalked and planned the crime against Marconi, a 20 year veteran.

It took a jury seven and a half hours to deliberate the sentence. On the other hand, it only took 30 minutes to find him guilty.

The murder was captured on video as Officer Marconi was writing a citation while working overtime. McKane killed Marconi, 50, on a busy street in front of many people.

McKane stated he carried out the crime against Marconi because he was mad at the courts for not being able to see his son.

Extra security was in place during the sentencing because McKane attacked a bailiff when he was found guilty.
