On Friday, it was determined that Reid Mitchell will serve 120 days in jail, 10 years of probation, and 200 hours of community service. This is after pleading guilty to aggravated assault.
Mitchell is one out of three teenagers who is said to have beaten a football player. That player attended Brazoswood High School in Texas.
While at a party in Lake Jackson, in Dec. 2021, Cole Hagan sustained several fractures to his skull and collarbone. This was a result of being viciously attacked after he was led outside of the party held at a residence.
Three people, Ayden Holland, Logan Huber, and Mitchell, were all 17 and 18, back then. They faced aggravated assault in connection to the occurrence.
In a lawsuit filed in Brazoria County against the three and four other teens and their parents, Hagan’s relatives are looking for $50 million in damages. They stated that the others were aware of the attack against Cole.
In addition to that, the suit claims that multiple individuals didn’t take any action when knowing about the assault against Cole.
It added that one of the teens had been drunk which led to Cole being wounded. The father of one of the attackers is accused of providing alcohol to juveniles.
