Teen In Custody After Causing Fatal Crash

Dallas, Tx., – A 50-year-old woman has died, and four other people were rushed to the hospital, including two juveniles, after a crash that happened early Sunday morning. A 16-year-old has been charged after fleeing the scene.
The accident that included just two vehicles, occurred around 12:45 am off I-20 and the Wheatland Road exit.
Police officials with the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office located an overturned black Ford F-150 in the grassy median, as well as an orange 2007 Nissan along the shoulder.
As soon as the deputies arrived at the scene the driver sped off.
There was a total of five people that was in the F-150. Miriam Valeriano, 50, who was the driver, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The four passengers include, an 11-year-old girl, 17-year-old male, 18-year-old male, and a 37-year-old male, were transported to area hospitals. All of the passengers are in stable condition; however, authorities have not released any further details into their conditions.
Dallas Police located and arrested the 16-year-old driver of the Nissan. He was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The teen was later charged with failure to stop and render aid in the accident that involved a death. He was transported to the Henry Wade Juvenile Facility.
