A student in Lexington, South Carolina, allegedly located and retrieved a pack of marijuana gummies out of a treasure box.
Now, a teacher has been apprehended. Victoria Farish Weiss, 27, has been charged with possession of a schedule I drug.
The gummies that were discovered were marijuana edibles or cannabis-based food products. They aren’t legal although they are sold in stores and online.
When the child got the pack of edibles out of the box, the teacher said to choose another option. The student picked something else, but that happened to be edibles, as well.
The following day, officials searched Weiss’s residence and discovered packs of edibles resembling the ones in the treasure box.
On Friday morning, Weiss turned herself in to authorities.
It was noted that no students consumed the THC-contained product.
