SWAT officer SPO Oden, of the Atlanta police, is being called a hero after saving the life of a 4-month-old baby, on Friday.
When SPO Oden was traveling in his patrol vehicle, he noticed a car with emergency lights flashing with the horn sounding.
The officer stayed behind the car until it arrived to a fire station and stopped. A woman then got out of the car and got the officer’s attention.
“A female ran to the officer, holding a 4-month-old infant, saying the baby wasn’t breathing. SPO Oden remained calm and began checking the child’s pulse. When unable to find a pulse, SPO Oden immediately notified radio dispatch of the situation and administered CPR. By the time Grady EMS arrived, SPO Oden had successfully gained a pulse from the infant…,” read a post from the Atlanta Police Department.
The child was taken to a medical facility.
“…his response reflects a high-level of training, readiness, and compassion. We could not be prouder of him in this critical moment,” the post added.
