Two suspects involved in the 2020 murder of a young Seattle woman visiting Dallas were sentenced to prison time last week.

35 year old Charles Beltran, of Mesquite, was sentenced to 6 years in prison after pleading guilty to tampering with human remains.

Beltran is said to have met the victim, Marisela Botello-Valadez, in Deep Ellum and took her back home. During that time Lisa Dykes ran in the room and began stabbing Botello.

Botello’s body was dumped in a rural area and not found for 6 months.

Beltran, Dykes and her wife Nina Marano went on the run and were later arrested and charged with murder. Dykes and Marano were supposedly in a three way relationship with Beltran at the time of the murder.

Dykes was sentenced to life in prison for murder and Beltran and Marano’s murder charges were dropped. Marano who still remains married to Dykes plead guilty to tampering with human remains charges and was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
