A suspect in the 2019 shooting of Boston Red Sox, David Ortiz was fatally shot in the Dominican Republic Sunday.
Luis Alfredo Rivas-Clase, known as “El Cirujano” was one of the 12 men suspected in plotting Ortiz’s attempted murder.
Rivas- Clase was shot outside of a shopping center in broad daylight.
There were 27 shell casings found at the scene by authorities.
Police believe he was involved in a high speed chase with his attackers before being fatally shot.
Ortiz was gunned down in 2019 outside a bar while visiting family in the Dominic Republic.
He was hospitalized for over a month before making a full recovery.
