45-year-old school substitute cafeteria worker, Tymetrica Cohns, has been arrested in Louisiana for allegedly selling homemade weed edibles to students.
On January 20, Cohns was removed from Sumner High School and taken into custody by authorities at the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Documents note that school officials had gotten a tip “involving a substitute cafeteria worker allegedly selling homemade baked goods, laced with marijuana, also known as edibles.”
“The safety of our students is of the utmost importance to our school system. I want to commend this student who saw something and used the P3 app to bring this threat to the attention of our school officials and law enforcement,” said the district’s superintendent.
Police say that Cohns was contracted by a staffing agency and wasn’t directly employed under the school system.
She is facing charges of possession/distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance in a drug-free zone.
An investigation is continuing.
