A New Jersey Starbucks employee tested positive for hepatitis A and continued to work around customers.

Camden County Health Department was notified by a health care provider, on November 17, that a patient tested positive for Hepatitis A.

Members of the Food Surveillance Unit visited the store to conduct an investigation, which showed no evidence of food safety violations.

The incident happened at 1490 Blackwood Clementon Road in Gloucester Township

During the course of the investigation, the store was closed for operation and not reopened until all employees were vaccinated.

Camden County Health Officer Paschal Nwako said, “Our highest priority is ensuring everyone involved remains safe and healthy. The patient is not currently working, and close contacts have been identified. We encourage anyone who may believe they were exposed to get vaccinated against hepatitis A by calling the county health department or your primary care physician.”

Anyone who visited the Starbucks store on Nov. 4,5,6,11,12 or 13 should get the hepatitis A vaccine.
