A man is deceased and a toddler is safe after a standoff in Wimer, Tx early Wednesday morning. 
According to reports the incident started around 2am when police were called out to the 5900 block of S. Interstate 45 at Emil at Liberty Crossing apartments.
Reports say a man was inside with his 2 year old son and refused to let him out.
Around 8am Swat arrived and went inside the apartment wearing armored gear and brought a 2 year old boy downstairs in a blanket safe. 
The father whose name has not been released was found deceased inside the apartment from a gunshot wound.
This investigation is ongoing.
