St.Louis Officer In Pursuit Of Suspect With No Sirens And Lights Struck A 12 Year Old Girl Leaving Her In Critical Condition

A 12 year old Missouri girl was struck by a police suv with no lights or sirens that was in pursuit of a suspect and is not expected to survive.
According to reports a 25 year old male officer noticed a suspicious person at a nearby gas station and began to pursue him when he struck Akeelah Jackson.
The officer was traveling southbound on Halls Ferry with no sirens or lights when the young girl crossed the street and was struck.
A witness says Jackson saw the car but had no time to react, “The car hit her and she flew in the air and came back down.
The officer did stop to render aid and contact EMS and is said to be cooperating with investigators.
No criminal charges have been filed at this time and this incident is still under investigation.
