At around 7:20 p.m., on Thursday night, two people were killed in a car wreck, the Coppell, Texas, police department has reported.

The incident occurred at the intersection of W. Bethel Rd. and S. Freeport Parkway.

Authorities say that a 20-year-old driver was speeding, traveling northbound on Freeport Parkway. The driver then ran a red light and t-boned a sedan that was going eastbound on Bethel Road.

Two people inside of the sedan, a 41-year-old woman from California, and a 69-year-old woman from Plano, were both declared deceased at the location. At least three other people were transported to a medical facility for their injuries.

Authorities think that the driver was speeding away from the scene of a wreck that happened on 635 just before his fatal accident.

He has been apprehended on two counts of Manslaughter.
