Ashley Rison, a 31-year-old ex-Ohio high school teacher’s assistant and softball coach has pleaded guilty to charges connected to a sexual relationship with a student. She is said to have pleaded with the student not to tell police.

Rison worked at New Miami High School and could receive five years in prison after pleading guilty to sexual battery and gross sexual imposition. This is related to claims that she had sex with a 17-year-old student.

Court documents show that Rison engaged in sexual behaviors with the student 8 various times.

“In addition to what the child tells us, we do have recordings between Ms. Rison and the child… Ms. Rison makes multiple incriminating statements in asking, begging the child not to report her to authorities,” stated one official.

The offenses were said to have been reported on May 3, 2021. Rison resigned the same day.

Prosecutors add that Rison wasn’t charged with “rape by force,” and it is thought that she was a part of criminal behavior with only one student.

Rison had worked at the school district since 2015 and coached the girls’ basketball and softball teams.

She is set to be sentenced on November 16 and may have to register as a sex offender.
