Singer Chico DeBarge Arrested On Possession Of Drugs And DUI After Posing As His Brother

Chico Debarge has been busted again on Drug Charges. He is famously known for making hits with his Motown family act, “Debarge,” back in the ‘80s. During his latest arrest officers stated he tried to throw one of them underneath the bus.
The Debarge singer was busted in Burbank after he had gotten pulled over near a shopping center mall on Jan 13. Officers say he was driving with no headlights on during the night with no license plates.
Burbank Police Department released in a report, Chico didn’t have Identification and stated that he was someone by the name of James, which is his older brother, who was also apart of the family singing group back in the ‘80s.
According to the arrest affidavit Chico was driving with 2 other female passengers and officers confiscated methamphetamines and heroin on him during a search. He was then taken into custody and that he properly identified himself during the booking process.
Chico had previously been charged with Drug Possession and DUI. Due to this failing to properly identify himself, Chico has also been charged with impersonation for telling officers that he was his brother.
After a total of ten days, Chico was finally able to make bail this past Friday.
Chico previously admitted that he struggled with addiction for years and had already been arrested twice before, in late 2019 as well as in 2007 on drug charges.
