Sheriff And City Officer Threaten To Arrest Each Other During Traffic Stop

3.9kviews

A sheriff and a city police officer, in Georgia, got into a disagreement over jurisdiction that ended with the two threatening to apprehend each other.

Sgt. Tracy James of the Hiawassee Police Department and Towns County Sheriff Ken Henderson were both a part of a traffic stop. Then, the jurisdiction was “called into question.”

The problem started when James walked up and Henderson both attempted to question a driver who was in the car with the windows rolled down.

“You get on my traffic stop again, I will arrest you,” James is heard telling Henderson.

The sheriff then responds back to the sergeant and said, “I’ll arrest you right now!”

The officers then ask the driver had he been stopped in or out of city limits.

Reports note that Towns County Sheriff’s Office has a problem with Hiawassee police going after suspects when inside city limits. Towns County, where the city of Hiawassee is located, is close to Georgia’s border with North Carolina.

It is said that both departments use the same dispatch location but the chain of commands are different.

During the encounter, that was captured on James’ body cam, last week, both officers used the f-word.

Henderson called James a boy and went even further by identifying him as a “f–kboy.”

“I’m not your boy,” James said as he went back to his patrol car. He then called Henderson a “motherf—er.”

A private recording given to sources seems to show Henderson calling Hiawassee police their “enemies.”

The conflict over jurisdiction is being reviewed. A formal investigation hasn’t been announced.

Other During Traffic Stop – SmashDaTopic is a little vanilla.
