Shelby County Detectives Shot At While Trying To Serve A Warrant

A man and woman are in jail after shooting at detectives that were trying to serve a warrant.
According to reports narcotic detectives were serving a warrant to a home at the 4200 block of Kenosha Rd Monday evening when detectives were met with gunfire.
When detectives knocked on the door Mattjustin Beale,28 and Brandie Thomas,28 refused to open and that’s when detectives used force to gain entry.
Once inside Beale opened fire on detectives. One of the detectives returned fire missing.
Beale fell into a glass door while trying to escape and was taken to a nearby hospital and treated for his injuries that he sustained while trying to escape.
After searching the home detectives found 5lb of marijuana, 17 prescription pills, a vehicle and about $2000 in suspected drug proceeds.
Beale and Thomas are now facing charges for firearms, possession of drugs with intentions to sell and possession of drug paraphernalia.
