A sheep, in Africa, was apprehended and given 3 years in prison after killing a person.
After fatally attacking a woman, Adhieu Chaping, 45, in the early part of this year in South Sudan, the sheep was arrested.
Police Chief Major Elijah Mabor said, “The ram attacked by hitting her ribs, and the woman died immediately. Our role as police is to provide safety and separate fights. The ram was apprehended and is currently in custody at a police station.”
The sheep was held at a jail where it was convicted of murder. It was sentenced to 3 years at a military camp.
“The owner is innocent, and the ram is the one who perpetuated the crime. So, it deserves to be arrested….,” Mabor added.
The local court also ruled that the owner of the sheep has to give the victim’s relatives five cows as a consequence for the killing. The sheep will also be given to the victim’s family upon its release from the camp.
