Former NBA star and businessman, Shaquille O’Neal, has announced that he is planning to open more of his Big Chicken restaurants, some in San Antonio, Texas.
In 2023 or the beginning of 2024, the restaurants will be launched, stated the CEO of Big Chicken, Josh Halpern.
This is just one part of Big Chicken’s openings in Texas as there are plans to launch up to 50 across Austin, Dallas, and Houston, too.
It’s going to take us a few minutes to get to San Antonio, but we’re really excited to come to the market. I know Shaquille has a deep personal connection to the market. I’m sure he’s excited to get in San Antonio, as well,” stated Halpern.
In 2018, Shaq started the restaurant, and it includes a touch of is notable NBA career. For instance, one item on the menu is a sandwich named after a fellow NBA player and legend, Charles Barkley.
Big Chicken restaurants are currently located in stand-alone facilities on Los Angeles and Las Vegas. They can also be visited in arena stands in Seattle and New York.
“…my team has done a fantastic job making sure we’re growing in the right way, with the right people. Now, we’re going even BIGGER in Texas…,” O’Neal said.
