29-year-old Albert Gardner, a sexual predator, is said to have taken off his ankle monitor and then overdosed. He was placed back in custody one day following his release from a nine-year prison sentence. This was for lewd and lascivious battery with a 12-15-year-old.

On July 7, Gardner was freed after nine years, and on July 8, he was apprehended after officers found his ankle monitor inside of trash can at a convenience store.

After seeing that his GPS tracker had been there for an extended amount of time, at a 7-11 in Brooksville, Florida, a probation officer called authorities to the location. Gardner had a monitor on as he had been sentenced to five years of supervised release.

Authorities then got a call about an overdose at a residence and discovered that Gardner had taken some type of narcotic. Narcan them had to be used to revive him.

After a medical facility cleared him, Gardner was placed in custody again. He has now been charged with violating his probation and tampering with an electronic monitoring device.
