Security Guard Fatally Shot at Downtown Dallas CVS

Dallas police are investigating a shooting that left a security guard dead late Friday night.

According to reports they responded to a call regarding a shooting at a CVS Pharmacy on the 1400 block of Main Street, around 11 p.m.

Upon arriving they found the security guard on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

According to reports two suspects were shoplifting when the security guard approached them. There was a confrontation and one of the suspects pulled out a gun and opened fire striking the guard.

Both suspects fled the scene before officers could arrive and remain at large.

This investigation is ongoing.
