Security Guard Critically Shoots Armed Man In Dallas Apartment Complex

An early morning shooting in a Dallas apartment complex left a man in critical condition.
Officers responded to a shooting call at the Thread apartments located in the 13600 block of Esperanza Dr around 12:31am.
Upon arrival they found a man in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound.
During the investigation officers learned that there was some sort of a disturbance at a party in the complex. Security was called.
At this time the officer approached a man, who pulled out a gun and pointed it at him.
The security officer, armed with a rifle, opened fire striking the man.
The suspect was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
Authorities are questioning witnesses in the apartments and say no charges have been filed at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
