Second U.S. Capitol Police Officer Dies While Off Duty

Capitol police announced another one of their officers died Saturday.
Howard Liebengood,51, who was assigned to to the Senate Division, apparently died by suicide.
Liebengood is the second officer to die this week following events at the Capitol.
Liebengood joined the force in 2005 and was at the Capitol Wednesday when angry protestors began rioting.
Sources say Liebengood took his own life Saturday while off duty.
Former Capitol Police Chief Terrance Gainer believes Liebengood’s death was called a “line of duty casualty.”
