Seattle Seahawks backup offensive tackle Chad Wheeler was arrested early Sunday morning on charges of domestic violence and assault.
According to reports the incident happened between Wheeler and his girlfriend at their Kent residence when he asked her to “bow” to
him and she refused.
Officers responded to the call and heard screaming from outside the apartment, once they made entry they could hear screaming from the bathroom.
Once inside the restroom they found Wheeler standing beside the victim.
It was stated that Wheeler threw his girlfriend on the bed and began strangling her until she lost consciousness.
Once she awoke she ran to the bathroom contacted police and tried to lock herself inside until they could arrive.
Wheeler then picked the lock and made his way into the bathroom which is where officers found him.
The victim was transported to Valley Medical Center and treated for a dislocated arm and other bodily pains.
Wheeler was initially uncooperative with officers as they attempted to arrest him but was later arrested.
As of Monday evening Wheeler remained in jail on a $40,000 bail.
Wheeler is 6’7 and 310lbs. It was said that he takes medication for bi polar disorder and hadn’t been taking his meds.
