An investigation is underway following a deadly shooting that occurred on Monday evening.
Seagoville police responded to reports of shots being fired at a community park located in the 600 block of Fountain Drive, around 6 p.m.
When officers and paramedics arrived, they found a man near a gazebo in the park who had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. He was transported to a local hospital but sadly did not survive his injuries.
Witnesses stated that the victim and the suspect were inside a blue Hyundai when the shot rang out. Both men exited the vehicle quickly, with the victim fleeing towards a nearby gazebo. The suspect managed to escape the scene before law enforcement arrived.
The identity of the victim has not been released at this time.
