Sachse Mother Files Lawsuit Against Daycare, Employee is Charged With Child Indecency

An employee at a daycare in Sachse was
caught on camera sexually assaulting a child, leading to an arrest and a lawsuit against the daycare facility.

The mother of a 4-year-old boy has filed a lawsuit against By the Barnyard Gatedaycare, alleging that surveillance footage captured her son being sexually abused by a worker at the facility. 19-year-old Efrain Jesus Bonilla was arrested and charged with indecency with a child involving sexual contact.

The victim’s family is seeking $1 million in damages for pain and suffering. Filed on June 10, the lawsuit claims the incident was never reported to state authorities or followed up with any action. The Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) completed an investigation in January 2023, determining that a child was abused while in care at By the Barnyard Gate, and cited the daycare for failing to report the incident.

Bonilla made the $250,000 bail and has since bonded out.
