A man has been released from jail on house arrest with electronic monitoring after killing his child’s mother in front of her job on October 2.
According to reports Andrew Charles Beard, of Rowlett, is facing a murder charge in the death of Alyssa Burkett,24.
The two were in a contentious custody battle where Burkett was awarded custody of their 1 year old child.
Witnesses told police that on October 2 they saw a man park a vehicle, approach Burkett’s vehicle, and shoot toward the driver’s side.
They say the man was wearing all black clothing and a face covering and driving either a black truck or SUV.
During the investigation officers searched two vehicles and collected a fake beard and brown makeup.
They also found tracking devices on Burkett and her boyfriend vehicle.
Authorities executed a search warrant on Beard’s residence late Oct. 2, and found tracking devices on Beard and her boyfriend’s vehicles.
They also seized Beard’s white Ford F-150 truck.
While searching the vehicle on October 3 they found work boots inside black trash bags that had been cut into pieces and smelled of bleach, the affidavit says. They also found a white trash bag that contained a serrated knife, a flat head screwdriver and two bottles of dark brown liquid foundation.
They also learned that Beard purchased a 2004 black Expedition and paid $2000 cash while wearing a face covering and ball cap.
Beard turned himself in Carrollton police on October 5 after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Beard was released on a monitored ankle GPS and cannot consume alcohol or drugs, cannot possess a deadly weapon, and must remain in Dallas County at all times.
