A woman is back in custody after fleeing from a jail in Rowlett.
Authorities reported that 22-year-old Quanesha Mason sparked an extensive search in a neighborhood near the intersection of Rowlett Road and Hickory Road.
The incident began Thursday afternoon when Mason was handcuffed for failing to provide identification.
Ring camera footage from a nearby home captured officers conversing in a front yard while Mason made her escape, sprinting away from behind a police cruiser and between two houses.
Once the officers realized she had fled, they called for backup.
Search efforts continued throughout the neighborhood until around 8 p.m. Thursday.
Police announced on Facebook that Mason was apprehended just before midnight that same night.
She was initially booked into the Rowlett city jail before being transferred to the Dallas County jail on a charge of escaping custody.
