Three teens from Rockwall were praised by the Rockwall City Council for saving a child from drowning.
Lifeguards Harrison Steinberger, Kaden McClendon, and Chris Daniels received awards from the mayor, assistant fire chief, and the parks and recreation’s director.
The lifeguards were on duty when they observed a little boy losing his footing. The boy began to go further down in the pool until he was all the way under. They saved the boy by rescuing him, performing cpr, and dialing 911.
When they first began cpr, the child did not have a pulse. After they started, water came out the boy’s lungs, but he was still unconscious. After the third round of cpr, he gained consciousness. They boy was taken to a medical facility when paramedics arrived. He was let out of the hospital the following day.
