A man from Ellis County, Texas, has been sentenced to 99 years in prison for continuous DWI offenses.
On July 15, 2022, 47-year-old Virgil Bryant III, of Red Oak, Texas, was apprehended for driving recklessly on Highway 287 and running another driver off of the road.
Authorities discovered a cold six-pack, with two beers that were already gone inside of his F-150. Additionally, they also found spilled alcohol in the driver’s side floorboard.
Bryant’s blood alcohol concentration was 0.245, over three times the legal limit.
This incident was Bryant’s seventh DWI in 14 years.
In 2009, Bryant had been sentenced to 40 years in prison after getting his sixth DWI. However, he was freed on parole in 2019.
