Kentrell Gaulden, the rapper known as YoungBoy Never Broke Again, has been found not guilty in a federal gun trial in Los Angeles, on July 15.
Gaulden had been charged with possession of a firearm after police found a gun on the floor of his car during an arrest in L.A., last March.
He stated that he never planned to use the weapon as he wasn’t aware that it was in his vehicle.
During the trial, it was shown that no DNA or fingerprints of his had been discovered on the pistol. Three days ago, a judge ruled that lyrics to his music couldn’t be used as evidence.
Gaulden isn’t totally cleared, though. The matter that led to his apprehension in L.A. will go to trial in Louisiana. In 2020, he was arrested in Baton Rouge for possession of an unregistered gun. The judge in that case has stated that video evidence that was taken illegally, without a valid search warrant, can’t be used.
