Alex Brown attends Red Bank Catholic in New Jersey. Last Thursday, his mother passed away following her 14 year-long battle with breast cancer.
The very next day, Brown, a quarterback on his school’s football team, launched six touchdown passes and ran for two touchdowns.
“Yesterday I lost my mother. Today I scored 8 touchdowns; thank you for watching over me mama,” Brown wrote in a tweet that included a heart emoji.
His school ended up with a 58-34 victory over Morris Catholic.
“It honestly felt like the whole night was scripted before I even got there. You know, I threw that first touchdown pass, and I just knew she was going to be with me the whole night. And it was a really special feeling,” Brown added.
Tom Brady praised Brown on Instagram; additionally, his football team will try to win a state championship to honor his mother further.
“…I’m going to make sure the world knows who Michelle Brown is. And I’ carry that for the rest of my life,” Brown stated.
