A Pennsylvania Principal was charged with 30 felonies after having a long-term sexual relationship with a male student.

The freshman principal at the Williamsport Area High School, Roger Weaver Freed, was arrested on Tuesday for indecent contact with a student, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, corrupting a minor, and providing alcohol to a minor. The total counts of felonies he was charged with equals to 30.

The 7-year-long relationship started in 2015 when the student was in middle school and continued after the boy graduated high school. The relationship between the boy and 34-year-old Freed ended in April 2022.

According to the affidavit, the student confided in freed leaned on him for emotional support during a family member’s passing.

To have quality time with one another, Freed would drive the student to places they would hang out. They also called, texted, and would FaceTime each other regularly.

The boy claims the two of them became “bros” and could discuss anything, including his sexuality.

As their relationship progressed, Freed made sure to tell the boy not to tell a single soul. He also told the student it was, “okay for bros to please each other.”

Two years into their relationship, in 2017, it turned sexual.

According to the affidavit, the two would engage in sexual acts four to five times a week for two years.

The student told officials that they would stay at a hotel out of town and drink wine and smoke cigars before engaging in sexual acts.

Freed was released on a $175,000 bail and is required to wear an ankle monitor at all times.
