President Biden To Provide $350 Million In Military Support To Assist Ukraine

1.1kviews

As Ukraine struggles to prevent Russian invasion, President Biden has told the U.S. State Department to provide up to $350 million worth of weapons from U.S. stocks to Ukraine.

Ukraine’s defense is expected to receive the money from the Foreign Assistance Act, noted a memo from the president to Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

Ukraine has been requesting Javelin anti-tank weapons and Stinger missiles to shoot down attacks from the air.

The Pentagon has stated that the weapons involved are anti-armor, small arms, body armor, different munitions, and anti-aircraft systems to help Ukraine’s front-line fighters.

Within the past year, the U.S. has provided $1 billion in security help to Ukraine. In the fall and winter of 2021, the U.S. took U.S. weapons from the stock supply to assist them.

On Saturday, Russian military members began descending upon Ukraine again after stopping the day prior in hopes of discussions with Kyiv. It never occurred.

Other countries, too, are providing Ukraine assistance with weapons and fuel.
