A pregnant Harlem woman was fatally shot in the head after her baby shower early Sunday morning.
Officers responded to a shooting call on West 128th Street and Frederick Douglass Boulevard around 1:15am.
Upon arrival they found the victim, Shanice Young,31 suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
She was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.
According to reports Young was nine months pregnant and returning home from her baby shower.
She was bringing gifts in the house when her ex boyfriend pulled up and confronted her new boyfriend.
At that time Young tried to intervene and her ex pulled out a handgun and shot her in the head before fleeing the scene.
The suspect is still at large and his name has not been released.
