Rapper Pooh Shiesty has been sentenced to 5 years in prison after shooting a club security guard.

The rapper, whose real name is Lontrell Williams, had been facing an 8-year sentence. However, his lawyer, Bradford Cohen, stated that the government didn’t calculate that correctly.

Cohen added that his team requested no more than 63 months, and that’s what they received.

Last June, Pooh was apprehended for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. This came after the Miami-Dade, Florida, police department responded to a call at the King of Diamonds Club for a shooting.

Witnesses had stated that the secuirty guard was walking, throwing the rapper out of the club. Then, an altercation occurred between the rapper and the staff.

The secuirty manager disclosed to police that the problem happened when money fell out of Pooh’s pocket. This led to the rapper firing his gun, striking the security guard in the ankle.

Later, Pooh pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence.
