The Polo Ralph Lauren brand is making history.
For the first time ever, it is partnering with colleges in creating a limited edition capsule-collection. It will honor the legacy of Morehouse and Spelman College.
This move notes the expansion of the teaming up of Ralph Lauren and Morehouse and Spelman. To add, alumni will be coming up with the ideas and designs.
This new collaboration, that was rolled out on Tuesday, features a Ralph Lauren Campaign, the first to display an all-Black cast.
In a statement, Ralph Lauren said that the collection’s purpose is to share “the spirited history, deep sense of community, and legacy of timeless dressing” at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).
Lauren says that it is not all about collegiate designing. “It’s about sharing a more complete and authentic portrait of American style and of the American dream. It is also to ensure stories of Black life and experiences are embedded in the inspiration and aspiration of our brand.
Beginning on March 29, the collection will be available worldwide. Items will include outerwear, suits, dresses, accessories, and more.
