Xxavier Edward Carter, an artist from Dallas, was performing one of his pieces in Miami when the police swarmed him and shut it down. Carter was performing exhibit, “Sisyphus and the Myth of the New World” at Miami beach.
This live show is an interpretation of a Greek legend story and is done fully naked. While naked Carter is hitting rocks into the water with a bat.
Miami beach is a clothing optional beach, however, police approached the artist mid performance and stopped the show. The officers initially told Carter he needed to put shorts on and then may continue his act so he obliged.
Shortly after the first round of cops left, a different crew of officers approached him and told him they would fine him and even jail him if he continued hitting rocks into the ocean.
The show was shut down right after that leaving his audience not pleased with the situation.
