A Sunrise, Florida police sergeant is being investigated after choking a female officer.

The Nov. 19 bodycam footage shows a man being arrested for allegedly assaulting people outside of a convenience store. The sunrise police officers handcuff him and place him in the back of a patrol car. The suspect resisted at first, however, he eventually sat down and got inside the car.

Sgt. Christopher Pullease arrives to the scene when the suspect is already in the back of the squad car. Pullease arrives heated and belligerent. The suspect is in handcuffs and in custody, however, Pullease aggressively confronts him and threatens to pepper spray him.

A female officer who was watching the incident unfold, comes from behind Pullease and intervenes. The female officer grabs Pullease by his duty belt and drags him away from the escalated situation.

Pullease becomes irate and grabs the female officer by her neck, strangling and choking her. He then slams her up against the patrol car before returning his anger back to the handcuffed man.

Pullease has not been arrested, fired, or even placed on unpaid leave. Instead, he is working a different position with the department while the investigation unfolds.
