On Friday, an Indianapolis police sergeant, who stomped on a handcuffed man’s face as he was being apprehended, was given a year and a day in prison.
In May, 45-year-old Huxley pleaded guilty to a civil rights offense. The brutal incident occurred on Sept. 24, 2021, as a man was being arrested for disorderly conduct which was seen on body cam footage.
Huxley was seen raising his foot and bringing it down on the face of Jeremiah Vaughn. Vaughn was already being held down by another police officer, the recording depicted. It also revealed Vaughn with his face up and on his back when he was kicked in the face.
In October, Huxley was charged with deprivation of rights under color of law. This is a civil rights offense.
He was suspended without pay, and a recommendation for termination has been set before the Civilian Police Merit Board.
The recommendation is still pending, and a decision will be made after the criminal process is finished. There is also state charges that have been pressed against Huxley.
Too lenient. Hummnn
