Authorities in Arlington are requesting the public’s assistance in finding a person of interest in a deadly hit-and-run.

Police say that 24-year-old Joel Sac Tambriz is known to be in a black 2019 Honda Civic Hatchback that hit 30-year-old Daniel Cruces on June 9.

In January, authorities pulled Tambriz over as he was driving a black Honda Civic.

The deadly incident occurred closed to 2 a.m. at the intersection of W. Pioneer Parkway and Center Street. When police got to the location, Cruces was found unconscious on the street. He was then declared deceased.

Bystanders disclosed that Cruces was using the crosswalk at the intersection, trying to cross from one side of Pioneer Parkway to the other side when he was struck by the Honda Civic. The Civic had been going eastbound on Pioneer Parkway and had driven away from the scene.

The vehicle was later discovered abandoned in the 700 block of E. Pioneer Parkway. Authorities say when the Civic was located, there was damage that was consistent with the hit-and-run, and there were several alcohol containers inside.

No apprehensions have been made in regards to the collision.

Police are requesting that if you see Tambriz, please call authorities immediately. Anyone with details about his whereabouts is asked to contact Officer Trowbridge at 817-575-8602.
