5.3kviews

The son of a Philadelphia police officer, Hyram Hill, 23, was fatally shot Monday and may have been followed from his job where he was a bouncer. He was home from school at the time.

Now, detectives on the case are investigating that the killing may have been targeted.

Around 4:40 a.m., Hill had a legally registered gun in his possession when he was shot nine times. He drew his weapon as two men confronted him while he was exiting his car, near a store.

Hill’s mother, Philadelphia Police Officer Edwenna Ferguson, is grieving her son’s death and a $30,000 reward is being offered for information regarding the suspects.

“I wasn’t even able to get to my baby. His father was there. His grandmother was there. His friends and family was there, but his mother couldn’t get to him fast enough,” Ferguson said.

She also expressed her desire for others who loved Hill to “stand down” and let police investigate the case.
