A pedestrian was struck and killed by a police car in Houston. The incident occurred while officers were involved in a vehicle pursuit.
On Saturday, a woman contacted Houston police officers, stating a group of people had carjacked and stolen her purse at gunpoint.
Police officers saw the truck after the woman was able to track it. However, it refused to stop. A chase started, and one of the patrol cars went off the road and onto the sidewalk, hitting pedestrian, Michael Jackson.
Responding officers helped the man immediately and called dispatchers and an ambulance for assistance right away.
A little while later, the man died from blunt force injuries caused by the motor vehicle accident.
The two 25 year-old officers, who hit the man, have been on the force for less than two years. They are on administrative leave and are said to be “distraught.” Their actions are being investigated by two different agencies.
Additonally, three suspects were apprehended at an apartment complex close by. They have been charged with aggravated robbery.
Two other suspects ran off.
They made it sound as if the car or truck was driving itself. Like trying to shift all the blame on the car. Correction, the two officers hit the poor man while driving the car. May he R.I.P.
