On Friday morning, an Alabama police officer allegedly killed his girlfriend who was seven months pregnant.
Relatives have identified the woman as Courtney Spraggins who had just told the man that she was with child.
Now, David McCoy, 28, has been charged with capital murder, is in jail, and doesn’t have a bail. He is said to have shot the mother of two in the head as they both were sitting inside of a car.
According to reports, McCoy dialed 911 to inform the authorities of the shooting. He told them that Spraggins had committed suicide. However, when the woman’s phone was analyzed, text messages contradicted his statements. The content of the text messages weren’t disclosed.
McCoy is on administrative leave while the investigation continues.
