A plumber doing work at pastor and televangelist Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church in Houston made a ‘bombshell’ discovery.

On November 10,2021 a plumber moved some tile and insulation behind a loose toilet wall and envelopes of money and checks poured out.

The worker said, “We went to go remove the toilet, and I moved some insulation away and about 500 envelopes fell out of the wall.”

The man contacted a maintenance supervisor and turned in the envelopes of cash and checks. The Lakewood Church employees immediately notified police.

Officers responded to the church on 3700 Southwest Freeway.

Throughout the investigation officers found evidence that this case is connected to the March 9 stolen money case.

Apparently, back in 2014 $200,000 in cash and $400,000 in checks was reportedly stolen from a safe at the church.

The money was never found or recovered and the case was ongoing.

This investigation is ongoing.
