Plano Stalker Charged with Harassing More Female Students at SMU

A convicted stalker from Plano, who has a history of harassing and threatening students at Southern Methodist University, has been arrested again for similar offenses.

Ian Smith, 23, has never been a student at SMU but has targeted various female students since 2021.

Despite serving time in prison and being released earlier this year, police report that he continued his troubling behavior.

Last week, Smith was arrested on a misdemeanor charge of harassment following a previous conviction.

Smith was released from the Dallas County jail Tuesday after posting a $10,000 bond.
