An investigation is underway following a tragic motorcycle accident in Plano over the weekend that resulted in the death of a man.
The incident occurred on November 2, around 11 p.m., when officers were called to the scene of a motorcycle crash on the 1700 block of Mimosa Drive.
Upon arrival, officers found a man lying on the ground with serious injuries. He was quickly taken to a local hospital, where he unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities later learned that the 29 year old motorcyclist was riding a 2004 motorcycle on Mimosa Drive when he collided with a parked car. The impact ejected him from the bike, causing severe injuries. Fortunately, no other individuals were harmed in the accident.
Plano police suspect that speed may have been a contributing factor in the fatal crash.
The traffic unit of the Plano Police Department is currently handling the investigation.
